Assam, Jan 6: <\/strong>Former Assam MP Biswajit Daimary’s 16-year-old son was located on Wednesday afternoon, about 24 hours after going missing from his boarding school in Kokrajhar town, about 220 km west of Guwahati<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Rakesh Roushan, Kokrajhar district’s Superintendent of Police said the boy, Amritraj Daimary, was located at Chapaguri in the adjoining Chirang district but details were awaited.<\/p>\n

Police said the teenager, Amritraj Daimary, had jumped over the boundary wall of his boarding school in western Assam\u2019s Kokrajhar town. Class 10 student was not carrying a mobile phone.<\/p>\n

“The missing son of ex-MP Biswajit Daimary has been located. A big relief for us<\/strong>,” said GP Singh, Additional Director General of Police.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe came to know he told two of his friends that he wanted to go to Guwahati or Delhi. We have informed the police in both these districts, besides other districts in Assam and West Bengal. Airports and railway stations have also been alerted<\/strong>,\u201d Rakesh Roushan, the Superintendent of Police of Kokrajhar district, said.<\/p>\n

Daimary, the missing boy\u2019s father and former Assam MP, had already negated the possibility of abduction.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis classmates said he wanted to leave the school as he was probably not happy there. Something may have happened at the boarding school that prompted him to leave<\/strong>,\u201d he told journalists.<\/p>\n

Daimary joined the BJP in November 2020 after quitting the Bodoland People\u2019s Front<\/a><\/span>, which he had represented in the Rajya Sabha.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
