{"id":8367,"date":"2021-02-02T15:25:56","date_gmt":"2021-02-02T09:55:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nerising.in\/?p=8367"},"modified":"2021-02-02T21:25:25","modified_gmt":"2021-02-02T15:55:25","slug":"streets-for-people-challenge-imphal-city-wide-survey-conducted-for-infrastructure-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northeastrising.in\/test\/streets-for-people-challenge-imphal-city-wide-survey-conducted-for-infrastructure-development\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Streets for People Challenge&#8217;: Imphal City-wide survey conducted for infrastructure development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Arunachal, Feb 2:<\/strong> The Imphal Smart City Limited (ISCL), recently carried out a city-wide survey as part of the \u2018<strong>Streets for People Challenge<\/strong>\u2019 to identify the challenges faced by pedestrians in Imphal city.<\/p>\n<p>During the survey, it was noted that 90 percent of the respondents wanted places to sit, rest, socialize, and exercise in the booming city.<\/p>\n<p>Findings also showed that 80 percent of respondents wanted a public park within 15 minutes of walking distance, and 87 percent voted for wider footpaths.<\/p>\n<p>About 70 percent of the people said that they did not feel safe while walking in the streets of Imphal.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018<strong>Streets for People Challenge<\/strong>\u2019 is an initiative in <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/bomb-hurled-at-governors-bungalow-in-imphal\/\">Imphal<\/a><\/span> for Smart Cities Mission under the Ministry of Urban Affairs (MoHUA).<\/p>\n<p>The survey aims to include its citizens in the urban development process and to ensure participatory planning in developing the city infrastructure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Arunachal, Feb 2: The Imphal Smart City Limited (ISCL), recently carried out a city-wide survey as part of the \u2018Streets for People Challenge\u2019 to identify the challenges faced by pedestrians in Imphal city.
