He was replaced by Gaurav Sharma who was a joint commissioner (establishment) in the <span style=\"color: #ff6600;\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/ips-soumen-mitra-takes-charge-as-the-new-commissioner-of-kolkata-police\/\">Kolkata Police<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The 2003-batch IPS officer Humayun Kabir joined the party in the presence of Trinamool supremo Banerjee during a political rally in East Burdwan.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Kabir\u2019s wife Anindita Das Kabir had joined the ruling formation in Bengal.<\/p>\n<p>Kabir\u2019s role as Chandannagar Police Commissioner came into the spotlight last week as he ordered the arrests of three Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers who allegedly raised the controversial \u201c<strong>Goli maaro<\/strong>\u201d (shoot them) the slogan at a rally on January 20.<\/p>\n<p>The slogans were heard at a roadshow led by BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari who had left the Trinamool Congress in December last year and joined the saffron brigade.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Bengal, Feb 9: Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and former Chandannagar Police Commissioner Humayun Kabir joined Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal\u2019s ruling Trinamool Congress on Tuesday.
