Assam, Feb 11:<\/strong> Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Wednesday formally inaugurated the new Bajali administrative district during a program held at Bajali Higher Secondary School<\/a><\/span> playground.<\/p>\n

The chief minister also laid the foundation stone of Bajali Milk Processing Unit to be set up at Pathsala for Rs 4.68 crore under the Chief Minister\u2019s Samagra Gramya Unnayan Yojna.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the occasion, chief minister Sonowal congratulated the people of Bajali, which has become the 34th district of Assam.<\/p>\n

The chief minister urged the people of the district to make Bajali one of the best districts in the state.<\/p>\n

He also said responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi\u2019s call for Atma Nirbhar India<\/a><\/span>, the state government has taken steps for making Assam self-reliant.<\/p>\n

Sonowal called on the people of Bajali to spearhead this movement with the human resource as students in the area always perform well in every examination and excel in academics.<\/p>\n

Saying that alleviation of Bajali to a district would facilitate better opportunities and facilities to the residents here, Sonowal stressed on the need to constantly improve oneself to achieve success in this age of competition.<\/p>\n

He urged the young generation to excel in all fields like science, sports, academics, and culture so that the market of South East Asia can be captured with skills and knowledge.<\/p>\n

Sonowal also highlighted measures taken by the state government in the last four and half years to develop the state and directed the deputy commissioner and superintendent of police of the district to facilitate people friendly administration.<\/p>\n

The CM hoped that Bajali Milk Processing Unit, once operational, would be able to contribute towards the goal of making Assam Atma Nirbhar.<\/p>\n
