Tripura, Feb 11<\/strong>: The Tripura Congress on Tuesday launched the \u2018Join Congress Social Media<\/strong>\u2019 campaign as part of a pan-India program to counter propaganda, said Kuljit Singh Nagra.<\/p>\n

Nagra, who is the AICC Tripura<\/a><\/span> in-charge, addressed the press and said that the social media campaign has been launched to raise the voice of common people.<\/p>\n

The Tripura Congress will recruit staff to reach out to the masses through different social media platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp\u00a0and Twitter.<\/p>\n

The party plans to recruit 100 individuals in each state assembly constituency along with 1,000 volunteers in each Lok Sabha constituency as part of this campaign. Another 2,000 volunteers would be recruited in the party\u2019s social media cell.<\/p>\n

This social media campaign has been launched to counter the various\u00a0propaganda\u00a0that the ruling BJP central and state governments try to promote through different social media platforms.<\/p>\n

The tag line for this new initiative is \u201cJoin Congress on social media<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe \u2018Godi media<\/strong>\u2019 is not voicing dissenting voices from the states and these are suppressed in the name of being Pakistani, Chinese or anti-nationals,\u201d Nagra said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will shortlist selected people from the state, and they will undergo a workshop to learn the skills and how to take up the issue being faced by the people in the state,\u201d Biswas said.<\/p>\n

Nagra said that the Congress party does not believe in hidden propaganda and that’s why the Congress party has come open with the social media campaign.<\/p>\n
