The amended tax rate will be effective from Monday midnight.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sentiyanger Imchen, Additional Chief Secretary of The finance department of the Nagaland govt on Monday issued a notification and stated that \u201c<strong>in the exercise of powers conferred by sub-section 3A of the Nagaland (Sale of Petroleum and Petroleum Products including Motor Spirit and Lubricants) Taxation Act, 1967 (as amended), the Governor of Nagaland is pleased to notify that the rate of tax under entry serial number 3 &amp; 4 of Schedule II of the Act shall stand amended. This notification shall come into the force with effect from midnight of 22nd February 2021.<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/nagaland-govt-cuts-taxes-on-petrol-and-diesel\/image-36\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-9064\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-9064\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/nerising.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/image-36-e1614055129279.jpg?resize=696%2C958&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Nagaland govt cuts taxes on petrol and diesel\" width=\"696\" height=\"958\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The notification from the finance department stated that the rate of tax on petrol and other motor spirits has been reduced from 29.80 per cent to 25 per cent per litre or from Rs 18.26 to Rs 16.04 per litre (whichever is higher).<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the other hand, the tax rate for diesel has been reduced from Rs 11.08 to Rs 10.51 per litre or 17.50 per cent to 16.50 per cent per litre (whichever is higher), stated the notification.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Also Read<\/span>:<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #000080;\"><a style=\"color: #000080;\" href=\"https:\/\/nerising.in\/sun-shines-at-night-in-a-remote-area-of-nagaland-shinnyu-bordering-myanmar\/\">Sun shines at night in a remote area of Nagaland Shinnyu bordering Myanmar<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n<hr \/>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the revised tax, petrol price will reduce Rs 2.22 per litre and diesel by 57 paise per litre from midnight of February 22.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier, Assam and Meghalaya governments had slashed prices of petrol and diesel.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland, Feb 22: The Nagaland govt on Monday cut down taxes on petrol, diesel and other motor spirits.
