Assam, March 6:<\/strong> The Assam Congress called the photos of tea gardens shared by senior minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Twitter \u201cfake<\/strong>\u201d and said they were not used by the party in its poll campaign.<\/p>\n

The alleged fake Twitter photos were those of the tea gardens of Taiwan and were definitely not used by Congress in its \u2018Axom Bachao Ahok<\/strong>\u2019 (Come, Let Us Save Assam) campaign as alleged by Sarma, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee spokesperson Bobbeeta Sharma told in media.<\/p>\n

BJP is rattled as people who want progress to return in the state are connecting with the Congress and Priyanka Gandhi<\/a><\/span> Vadra\u2019s visit to the poll-bound state has left the saffron party worried, she said.<\/p>\n

The three-phased state election is slated for March 27, April 1, and April 6.<\/p>\n

Sarma, the state finance minister, and senior BJP leader of Northeast had tweeted twice on Thursday under the hashtag #CongressInsultsAssam<\/span><\/strong> claiming that the pictures used for the party\u2019s campaign were those of tea gardens in Taiwan.<\/p>\n

In the first tweet, he said \u201cOfficial Congress campaign page is using a photo of tea garden from Taiwan to say \u2018Assam Bachao\u2019. Congress leaders can\u2019t even recognize Assam? This is an insult of Assam and Tea Garden workers of our state<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n

In the second tweet, the minister said, \u201cFirst Congress couldn\u2019t identify Assam, now Congress can\u2019t even recognize Assamese people. This is again a pic from Taiwan.<\/strong><\/p>\n
