Uttar Pradesh, March 20:<\/strong> A mother and her newborn baby died after a class 8 dropout, employed at a local clinic, performed a C-section on the woman with a shaving blade in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district.<\/p>\n

The woman bled to death after Rajendra Shukla, 30, wielded a shaving blade and performed a C-section surgery on her. The baby died minutes after birth.<\/p>\n

According to a news report, Rajendra Shukla, a class 8 school dropout was employed at Maa Sharda Hospital in Saini village by Rajesh Sahni to perform surgeries at the facility.<\/p>\n

The probe has revealed that Rajesh Sahni ran his unregistered facility with quacks and midwives. Meanwhile, the police<\/a><\/span> have written to the chief medical officer to act against illegal clinics.<\/p>\n

Both Rajendra Shukla and Rajesh Sahni were arrested and booked following a police complaint by the woman’s husband.<\/p>\n

The incident came to light when Rajaram, the woman’s husband filed a complaint that his wife and newborn child died due to medical negligence, Sultanpur SP Arvind Chaturvedi said in the media.<\/p>\n

“We found that it was an unregistered clinic with no infrastructure to perform surgeries. Quacks used razor blades to conduct operations<\/strong>,” Arvind Chaturvedi said.<\/p>\n

Baldiram SHO Amrendra Singh said when the woman went into labour, she was taken to a midwife who asked Rajaram to take her to a\u00a0primary health centre.<\/p>\n

“There an auxiliary nurse examined Poonam and told Rajaram to move her to the hospital as her condition was critical<\/strong>,” he said, adding that Rajendra Shukla told Rajaram to take her to a district hospital as she bled profusely on the makeshift operating table.<\/p>\n
