New Delhi, April 01: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been sent to judicial custody until April 15 in connection with a money laundering case linked to a now-scrapped liquor policy, just ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Kejriwal appeared before Special Judge Kaveri Baweja after the conclusion of his Enforcement Directorate custody.

The ED requested 15-day judicial custody for Kejriwal, indicating the possibility of further custody in the future.

Additional Solicitor General S. V. Raju, representing the ED, alleged that Kejriwal had been uncooperative during custody, withholding passwords to electronic devices and providing evasive responses.

Addressing reporters before entering court, Kejriwal criticized the Prime Minister’s actions, referring to his arrest, stating that they were detrimental to the country’s interests.

Accompanied by AAP ministers Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj, and his wife Sunita Kejriwal, the Delhi CM appeared in court.

Meanwhile, the Delhi High Court dismissed a petition seeking to prevent Kejriwal from issuing orders while in ED custody.

Instead, the court instructed the central agency to present a note to the judge overseeing the excise policy case, directing appropriate action by the law.

The ED informed the court that no infrastructure or equipment was provided to Kejriwal for issuing orders.
