Guwahati, March 18: Assam Minister Pijush Hazarika delivered a blistering critique of the Congress, asserting that the party has lost its ideological moorings and stands at zero with no clear direction.

Hazarika’s remarks came during a mass joining event in Jorhat, where former Congress leader Rana Goswami defected to the BJP on March 17.

Over 2000 Congress workers, led by Goswami, joined the saffron party in a ceremony attended by state BJP president Bhabesh Kalita and Minister Pijush Hazarika.

Addressing the gathering, Hazarika emphasized the significance of Goswami’s decision to leave the Congress, highlighting the BJP’s inclusive approach towards both new and seasoned leaders.

He underscored the party’s commitment to collective progress at both the state and national levels.

Regarding the upcoming elections, Hazarika downplayed their importance for the BJP, stressing that the party’s primary focus remains on serving the nation. He referenced national media reports predicting a landslide victory for the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections, indicating widespread support for the party’s agenda.

Hazarika criticized the Congress for its lack of coherent ideology and leadership, which has led to internal discord.

He suggested that the Congress has resorted to forming alliances, including with the BJP, in an attempt to address its internal challenges.

Ultimately, Hazarika concluded that the Congress currently wields little political influence due to its internal strife and ideological vacuum.
