Imphal, May 12: Amidst escalating tensions, reports unveil a fierce clash between suspected cadres of the Kuki National Front (Burma) [KNF(B)] and operatives of a proscribed Northeastern outfit near the Indo-Myanmar border, particularly within Kamjong district and the vicinity of Myanmar Border Pillars No. 90 and 91.
The confrontation erupted around 12:40 am on Saturday, May 11, igniting a heavy exchange of gunfire that reverberated across the region.
Sources familiar with the situation reveal that the conflict had been simmering for several days prior, with villagers in Kamjong bearing witness to the ominous sounds of gunfire echoing through the landscape.

The clash unfolded as a significant contingent comprising members of the People’s Defense Force (PDF) and KNF(B) launched an assault on a camp belonging to a Northeastern insurgent group located in Myo Thit, situated within the Sagaing Region of Myanmar.
