Guwahati, March 16: At the Bathou Kherai Resort in Chirang, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) announced its candidates for two crucial Lok Sabha constituencies.

Kampa Borgoyary will represent the No. 1 Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency, while Durga Das Boro will contest for the Darang Udalguri Lok Sabha constituency.

The candidates were revealed during the CWC meeting held at Bathou Kherai Resort Chirang. The BPF is poised to contest in a total of 5 Lok Sabha constituencies in Assam.

For the remaining 3 constituencies – Barpeta, Guwahati, and Tezpur Lok Sabha constituencies – the BPF plans to announce its candidates shortly, according to BPF President Hagrama Mohilary.

Meanwhile, Joy Mushahary, a prominent figure within the BPF, has resigned from the party citing irreconcilable differences.

In his resignation letter dated March 14, 2024, Mushahary formally stepped down from his role as President of the Central Committee Youth BPF and renounced his primary membership in the party.

Expressing respect and obedience, Mushahary stated, “With profound respect and obedience, I do hereby tender my resignation from the post of President, Central Committee Youth BPF and also from the primary membership of BPF with immediate effect from the 14th of March, 2024.”

He continued, “While my aim and purpose is to serve the people of the region from the very beginning, I believe I am unable to do this anymore within this party.”

Mushahary expressed gratitude to his party members for their support and the platform provided to serve the region’s people.
