Guwahati, March 23: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has taken stringent action against schools found violating affiliation norms during surprise inspections, disaffiliating 20 schools across the country.

Among them is Sai RNS Academy, located in Dispur, Guwahati, which faced disaffiliation for non-compliance with regulations.

Another notable instance was Sreeram Academy in Barpeta, Assam, which was downgraded along with two other schools during the nationwide scrutiny.

The CBSE released a comprehensive list of schools penalized for various infractions and malpractices, including non-adherence to norms.

The surprise inspections conducted by CBSE uncovered numerous instances of malpractice, such as the presentation of dummy students, admission of ineligible candidates, and improper record-keeping practices in several schools.

These findings prompted the board to take decisive action against the erring institutions.

In response to these revelations, CBSE issued an official notification, highlighting the importance of adherence to Affiliation and Examination Bye-laws.

The notification underscored the seriousness of the violations, including the engagement of dummy students and ineligible candidates, as well as inadequate record maintenance.

As a consequence of these transgressions, Sai RNS Academy in Dispur, Guwahati, Assam, faced disaffiliation by CBSE, underscoring the board’s commitment to upholding educational standards and integrity across affiliated institutions.
