According to the 2011 census, Dibrugarh is inhabited by 154,296 residents, with males comprising 54% and females 46% of the population.
The city’s linguistic diversity is evident, with Assamese, Bengali, and Hindi being the primary languages spoken. The average literacy rate stands impressively at 89.5%, exceeding the national average.
Scheduled for phase 1 on April 19, the electoral battleground in Dibrugarh sees a three-way contest among the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Gana Parishad, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
