Ayodhya, Jan 23: Ayodhya witnessed an overwhelming turnout as the newly consecrated Ram Mandir opened its doors to devotees for prayers on Tuesday.

The massive crowd gathered since 3 am, eager to have a darshan of the new Ram Lalla idol following the grand ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony held the previous day.

The ‘pran pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya unfolded amid joyous celebrations, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi presiding over the main rituals conducted by a select group of priests.

Devotees seeking a glimpse of Lord Ram Lalla can plan their visits during specific time slots, with morning hours from 7 am to 11:30 am and afternoon hours from 2 pm to 7 pm.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra website offers details on ‘aarti’ timings, including jagran/shringar at 6:30 am and sandhya aarti at 7:30 pm.

Passes for the ‘aarti’ are available both online and offline, with offline passes obtainable at the camp office at Shri Ram Janmbhoomi, requiring valid government identification.

The ‘pran pratishtha’ ceremony, held at 12:29 pm on Monday, marked a significant event in the ceremonial journey, which included a seven-day ritual commencing on January 16.

Attendees included people from diverse backgrounds and representatives of various tribal communities, along with prominent spiritual and religious leaders.

Constructed in the traditional Nagara style, the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir boasts dimensions of 380 feet in length (east-west) and 250 feet in width. Standing 161 feet above the ground, the temple is supported by 392 pillars and features 44 doors.

Its pillars and walls showcase intricate sculptures depicting Hindu deities, Gods, and Goddesses.

Within the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Mandir, Lord Ram is enthroned in a child-like form, symbolizing a sacred moment for devotees.
