Bengal depression

Weather Update, Sept 22: West Bengal is expected to experience heavy rainfall until Monday due to a depression forming over the northwest Bay of Bengal. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for numerous districts, extending northward.

On Thursday, Kolkata witnessed heavy rainfall, resulting in traffic congestion and waterlogging in various parts of the city.

Coastal and western districts of West Bengal are anticipated to receive the most precipitation. On Friday, moderate rainfall is forecast for South 24 Parganas, Purba Medinipur, Bankura, Purulia, and Paschim Bardhaman. Birbhum and Murshidabad districts are expected to experience heavy rain on Friday. The weather department has issued a warning of substantial rainfall in North Bengal until Saturday.
