1. 20 legislators in Delhi seek ENPO’s postponement of the March 19 meeting amid Nagaland’s crisis.
2. They aim to secure appointments with central leaders to address the frontier issue.
3. ENPO declines, citing the urgency of discussing the ongoing matter on March 19.

Kohima, March 17: Amid the ongoing “public emergency” in eastern Nagaland due to unresolved Frontier Nagaland Territory concerns, 20 legislators have urged the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) to postpone the March 19 meeting.

These legislators, currently in Delhi, are awaiting appointments with central leaders to address the frontier issue.

However, the ENPO has declined their request, affirming that the scheduled meeting will proceed as planned.

The organization highlighted that the meeting was rescheduled to accommodate the convenience of the Eastern Nagaland Legislator’s Union (ENLU) members, who were traveling to Delhi.

The ENPO emphasized the importance of the meeting despite concerns about the Election Model Code of Conduct already being in place for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The ENPO’s meeting on March 19 aims to gather the state’s lone Rajya Sabha MP, 20 elected members from the eastern region, and leaders of various civil society organizations to address the pressing issue at hand.
