In an effort to make the electoral process more accessible, the home voting option has been extended to various districts in the state for the 2023 Mizoram Legislative Assembly elections.

This expansion allows senior citizens aged 80 and above, as well as voters with disabilities (PwD), to participate in the democratic process. Furthermore, polling personnel, other officials, and essential service personnel on duty are also casting their votes through postal ballots.

To ensure the utmost transparency and fairness during the elections, webcasting arrangements have been implemented in 765 out of the 1,276 polling stations, covering 60 percent of the total polling stations across the state.

The state of Mizoram is actively preparing for the upcoming General Assembly elections, aiming to conduct the electoral process smoothly and efficiently. With the early dispatch of voting machines and the casting of early votes, the stage is set for a successful democratic exercise in the state.
