Sports, Nov 06: Riyan Parag, on a stunning streak with seven consecutive fifties in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy, is poised for his first India call-up for the T20I series against Australia.

Parag’s consistent domestic cricket performance this season has caught the selectors’ attention. His all-round abilities and outstanding fielding skills make him a compelling choice.

The five-match series is scheduled to begin on November 23, just after the World Cup.

Parag is the top run-scorer in this edition of the Mushtaq Ali Trophy, amassing 510 runs in 10 matches with an impressive average of 85.00 and a remarkable strike rate of 182.79. He played a pivotal role in Assam’s journey to the semi-finals.

Representing the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, Parag has also contributed as a part-time off-spinner, taking 11 wickets at an average of 24.54 and an economy rate of 7.29, including best figures of three for nine.

Furthermore, Parag emerged as the leading run-scorer in the Deodhar Trophy this season, accumulating 354 runs in five games with an average of 88.50 and a strike rate of 136.67. He recorded two centuries and a fifty in addition to taking 11 wickets at an average of 19.09 for East Zone.
