Gangtok, Sep 28: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for several districts in Sikkim, forecasting heavy rainfall and snowfall in the region.
According to the latest weather warning from the Meteorological Centre in Gangtok, areas including Mangan, Gyalshing, Pakyong, Soreng, Namchi, and Gangtok are expected to face intense weather conditions, with snow likely in higher altitudes.
The advisory, issued at 00:02 IST, is in effect for three hours, during which the public has been urged to stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel.
