Kolkata, May 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the stage on Sunday, May 12, addressing a fervent election rally in Barrackpore, West Bengal.

With his sights set on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Bengal, Modi laid out five steadfast guarantees for the state’s future.

“I am giving five guarantees to Bengal. As long as I am here, there will be no religion-based reservation. Nobody will be able to stop reservations of SC, ST, or OBC. Nobody will be able to stop you from doing Ram Navami Puja. Nobody will be able to overturn the Supreme Court’s decision on Ram Temple in Ayodhya and nobody will be able to finish CAA,” proclaimed Modi.

Modi evoked the historical significance of Barrackpore and the pivotal role it played in India’s struggle for independence.

However, he lamented the current state of affairs, attributing it to the governance of the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC, which he accused of fostering corruption and malfeasance.

“There was a time when scientific innovations thrived in Bengal, but under TMC’s rule, the state has become synonymous with bomb-making factories,” Modi alleged.

He further criticized the TMC‘s handling of illegal immigration issues, accusing the party of providing sanctuary to unlawful migrants.

In a scathing indictment of the TMC-Congress alliance, Modi accused them of resorting to divisive politics and appeasement tactics. He highlighted inflammatory remarks made by TMC members, denouncing their rhetoric and questioning their allegiance.

Looking ahead to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Modi expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) prospects in Bengal, aiming to surpass its performance in 2019 when it secured 18 seats.

Emphasizing the strategic importance of West Bengal, Modi pledged to harness the region’s vast potential for economic growth and development.

“West Bengal is an important state for us. Despite being endowed with abundant resources, eastern India languished in poverty during the Congress rule. I am committed to unleashing the economic potential of these states and propelling them towards prosperity,” declared the Prime Minister, outlining his vision for a thriving and vibrant eastern India.
