Soreng, May 09: Preparations are in full swing in the Soreng district of Sikkim as the eagerly awaited election results draw near.
Scheduled for June 2nd and 4th, the counting process for both assembly and parliamentary polls is anticipated to be a pivotal moment in the democratic process.
Led by Yishey D Yongda, the District Electoral Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Soreng, the initial randomization of counting personnel took place at the District Administrative Centre (DAC) in Soreng.

This crucial step saw the presence of Dhiraj Subedi, Deputy DEO and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Soreng, along with DR Bista, Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) at Headquarters.
A meticulous selection process resulted in a contingent of 198 counting personnel, including Supervisors, Counting Assistants, and Micro Observers. The selection was conducted transparently and with integrity, utilizing the National Informatics Centre (NIC) portal for the randomization procedure.
