Goyal emphasized Zomato’s commitment to reversing the change if it leads to adverse societal consequences.

Despite facing criticism online, Goyal noted an overwhelmingly positive response, especially from young customers.

Earlier, Zomato introduced ‘Pure Veg Mode’ and ‘Pure Veg Fleet’ to cater to 100% vegetarian customers’ dietary preferences.

The announcement sparked a debate, with some users criticizing it as casteist, while others supported it as respecting vegetarians’ choices.

Arguments ranged from concerns about casteism to supporting vegetarian preferences and acknowledging the large market for vegetarian food in India.
