Sport, March 20: Royal Challengers Bangalore, one of the prominent franchises in the Indian Premier League (IPL), made headlines during their highly anticipated RCB Unbox event.

At this event, held at the iconic M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, the team announced their rebranding as Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The decision to rename the franchise comes 18 years after the city of Bangalore was officially renamed Bengaluru. With this change, RCB aims to strengthen its local connection and embrace the cultural identity of the city it represents.

The unveiling of the new name was accompanied by the launch of the team’s jersey for the IPL 2024 season, featuring a vibrant red and blue design.

The RCB Unbox event was attended by notable figures, including team captain Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, and Smriti Mandhana, the victorious captain of the Women’s Premier League team.
