Shillong, Dec 24: Meghalaya takes Christmas decorations to a whole new level. Moolamylliang, a village in the East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya is celebrating Christmas and the “festival of democracy” with election-themed decorations and lighting to create awareness about the importance of exercising one’s franchise responsibly.

Moolamylliang is a Village in Saipung Block in the Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya State, India. It is located at a distance of 10 Kms from the District Headquarters Khliehriat.

The village has become a famous beacon of greenery and cleanliness among the villages of East Jaintia Hills District.
The village is filled with lush green scenery, the houses and streets are clean, trees are planted in every nook and corner and both the young and old ensure there is no littering.
The Village organizes the Annual Christmas Lights Festival every December, in which the entire village is lit up and decorated with bright and beautiful lights and decorations of all shapes and colors marking the birth of Jesus Christ.
