lockdown in Nagaland

Guwahati, Aug 3: In view of the rise of COVID-19 positive cases, the district administration of Mon district in Nagaland has extended total lockdown in the district for seven days and it has come into effect from Monday.

Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Thavaseelan K has notified that the total lockdown which was imposed in Mon town Nagaland and Tizit sub-division on 26 July has been extended for another 7 days i.e August 3 to August 9.

The district administration said in the new order that, movement of public will remain strictly prohibited except on medical emergencies.

All business, commercial establishments, shops shall remain closed. Movement of private vehicles except those permitted is banned. All social, cultural, religious, academic gathering shall be banned. Not more than 20 persons will be permitted in case of funerals. A register containing the names and contact details of all those who attend must be mandatorily maintained and submitted to the concerned subdivision officers. No movement will be permitted in or out of Mon Sadar & Tizit subdivision. Any persons found violating this order will be penalized under relevant provisions of the law,” said in the order copy.

In another notification the Deputy Commissioner Mon, Thavaseelan notified that the total lockdown in Phonching sub-division has been extended for another 7 days i.e August 3 to  August 9.
