This meeting followed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s directive to deploy the “full spectrum of counter-terror capabilities” after a series of terror incidents, including an attack on a bus carrying pilgrims.

Recent terror attacks in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda districts of Jammu and Kashmir resulted in the deaths of nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan, with several security personnel and others injured.

Additionally, two suspected Pakistani terrorists were killed in an encounter in Kathua district, where a significant cache of arms and ammunition was recovered.

These incidents occurred before the annual Amarnath pilgrimage to the south Kashmir Himalayas.
