Itanagar, July 01: Continuous rainfall over the past five days has caused severe flooding in Namsai district and Wakro circle of Lohit district, impacting a total of 34 villages.

C J Mannou, an official from the Water Resources Division, issued a warning today, highlighting the escalating flood situation in the region.

The overflow of the Kamlang River into the Barreng River and the surge of the Tengapani River into the Tiyang River have exacerbated the crisis, posing serious threats to villages along their banks.

The Jengthu and Noa-Dehing rivers are also flowing dangerously high, increasing concerns about potential bank erosion.
