Guwahati, Aug 23: As the much-anticipated Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing mission by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) approaches, educational institutions across Assam actively participate in the historic event.

The Axom Sarba Siksha Abhiyan Mission has issued a directive for schools and colleges in Assam to remain open until 6 pm on the day of the landing, August 23, 2023. This move aims to organize live streaming of the Chandrayaan-3 soft landing and encourage students and teachers to witness this monumental achievement together.

In a letter addressed to district mission coordinators, the state’s SSA mission director highlighted the significance of India’s space exploration journey, especially the impending Chandrayaan-3 mission. The mission director called upon all educational institutions throughout the state to open their doors until 6 pm and arrange for the live streaming of the lunar landing event within their premises.

The initiative seeks to foster a spirit of scientific inquiry and innovation among students and faculty members. The mission director encouraged district mission coordinators to invite neighboring school students to schools where live streaming of the Chandrayaan-3 landing event is scheduled for Wednesday evening.

ISRO has announced that Chandrayaan-3 is scheduled to achieve a historic moon landing on August 23, 2023, at 6:04 pm. This mission has garnered immense interest and excitement among space enthusiasts and the educational community.

Assam’s Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, has urged teachers and students from all schools and colleges in the state to tune in and watch this historic event. The live broadcast of the Chandrayaan-3 landing will be available via YouTube, ISRO’s Facebook page, and DD National TV, starting at 5:20 pm.
