Weather Forecast, April 27: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has raised a red flag, warning of severe heatwave conditions in the East and South Peninsular regions until April 30.

Heatwave Alert in Maharashtra

IMD has issued a heatwave alert for Thane, Raigad districts, and parts of Mumbai from April 27 to 29. The peak temperatures are expected on April 27 and 28. On Thursday, Maharashtra’s Jalgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature in the region at 42.7 degrees Celsius.

Heatwave Prediction for Jharkhand

The weather office has forecasted temperatures exceeding 40 degrees Celsius across most areas of Jharkhand, particularly in Kolhan, Santhal, and North Chotanagpur divisions until April 29.

  • Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand: Light to moderate rainfall/snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning predicted from 26th-29th April. Heavy rains expected during 27th-29th April.
  • Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi: Scattered rains accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds forecasted from 26th-28th April.
  • Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh: Light to moderate rains with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds expected on 27th April.
