Covishield

1. CoWIN certificates now lack PM Modi’s image, addressing concerns linked to Covishield.
2. Modi’s photo previously featured prominently on certificates, is now replaced by a reflective quote.
3. The revision reflects the Ministry’s response to controversies surrounding Covishield and vaccine certificates.

New Delhi, May 02: The Union Health Ministry has revised CoWIN certificates, removing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image amid Covishield concerns.

Previously featuring Modi’s photo, certificates now solely bear a quote reflecting collective resolve against COVID-19. Recent Covishield controversies led to social media scrutiny and discussions.

Health officials attributed the change to the Model Code of Conduct during ongoing elections. This isn’t the first time Modi’s photo was excluded; it happened in 2022 for state elections.

Modi’s photo on certificates sparked controversy in 2021, prompting legal actions. The opposition Congress accused the BJP of disregarding WHO guidelines.
