Mizoram, Jan 30: A joint team of Assam Rifles and Customs Department personnel arrested a Myanmarese national and seized heroin worth Rs 29.60 lakh at Champhai district, in Mizoram, an official said.
They seized the contraband during a joint operation at Zote village in Champhai district.

In another incident, the Assam Rifles and Customs Department personnel also seized 240 bags of areca nuts worth Rs 40.32 lakh in the Tlangsam-Ruantlang area in Champhai district and arrested one individual.
According to the officials, the areca nuts were smuggled from Myanmar.
