Kolkata, April 07: BJP MP Locket Chatterjee from Hooghly on Saturday alleged that Trinamool Congress supporters attacked her car in West Bengal’s Hooghly.
According to her the attack was planned and executed at the behest of Bansberia Municipality’s Vice Chairman Shilpi Chatterjee.
Locket Chatterjee was on her way to a Kali Puja program in Hooghly’s Mogra when the alleged attack took place in Bansberia.
A video she uploaded on X shows people banging on the hood of a car with a BJP flag.
The BJP MP’s car reportedly sustained significant damage during the assault, prompting concerns for her safety and the safety of others in the car.

The BJP demanded action from the election commission over the incidents and asked the poll body to “swiftly apprehend the culprits for a fair and peaceful election”.
The MP, who is re-contesting for the Hooghly Lok Sabha seat slammed the TMC and wrote on X, “Their audacity exposes the Trinamool’s mafia grip over Hooghly. Today, their thugs dared to block my pilgrimage to Maa’s Puja.” Locket Chatterjee also said the incident was “a clear sign of voter intimidation”.

This is not the first time that violence before the vote has occurred in Bengal. When it comes to elections in Bengal, TMC and BJP are always in a clash.
However, the TMC denied having any role in the incident. A TMC leader told that “common people were protesting for Locket Chatterjee’s absence from the constituency”.
