He provided a clean chit to arrest former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, stating that he was being framed for a crime he did not commit.

“BJP is using central agencies to frame Hemant Soren in false cases,” Champai Soren stated earlier in the day after moving the confidence motion. He emphasized that his government in Jharkhand is a continuation of Hemant Soren’s administration.

Former Chief Minister Hemant Soren, currently in the custody of the Enforcement Directorate over an alleged land scam, was present for the trust vote after a PMLA Court permitted his participation.

Addressing the assembly, Hemant Soren criticized the BJP-led Centre and challenged the Enforcement Directorate to prove his connection to the land scam, stating, “If it is proven, I will quit politics.”

Ahead of the crucial trust vote, around 40 coalition MLAs were shifted to Hyderabad, Telangana, to thwart alleged poaching attempts by the BJP. The MLAs returned to Ranchi on Sunday evening to participate in the trust vote, and visuals on social media showed them being taken to the Circuit House in Ranchi, flashing victory signs from the bus.
