New Delhi, July 04: Veteran BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani has been admitted to Apollo Hospital for medical observation, with his condition reported as stable, according to the hospital. Dr. Vinit Suri, senior consultant in Neurology, is overseeing his care.

Details of Advani’s illness were not immediately disclosed, as reported.

Last week, the 96-year-old leader was hospitalized at AIIMS due to age-related health concerns.

At AIIMS, he underwent examination by specialists from various fields, including urology and geriatric medicine, and underwent a minor procedure before being discharged on June 27.

Earlier this year, LK Advani was honored with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and other senior leaders at his residence, acknowledging his significant political career.

Lal Krishna Advani, born in Karachi on November 8, 1927, has been a prominent figure in Indian politics, serving as BJP’s national president and holding key positions such as Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister during his tenure under Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s leadership from 1999 to 2004.

His political journey began with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and spanned over three decades, marked by multiple terms as BJP president and distinguished parliamentary service.
