Kohima, April 26: Nagaland’s Pencak Silat team has made a remarkable achievement by winning a total of 33 medals (10 Gold, 9 Silver, and 14 Bronze) at the 5th North East Pencak Silat Championship held from April 21 to 23 in Imphal, Manipur.
The team was declared the second runners-up team champion, which is a huge feat for the state.
According to the press release issued by the general secretary of the Nagaland Pencak Silat Association, Kashito Kiba, the team’s gold medal winners in the Tanding event include Kevin, Kitenlo K. Thono, Chithuyio Kajisho, Anuska Adhikari, Aahan Debnath, Altab, and Ayush Thapa.
Tiayanger Imsong and Avikali V. Sheqi won the Silver medals while the Bronze medals were won by Liike Kibami, A. Vipu Assumi, Hinokali, Dausanliu Rentta, Hatneinem Khongsai, Anshuman Adhikari, Reevan Jaishi, Ashish Kumar Ray, Rituwin Philio, Rahul Ray, and Mercy Singh.

In the artistic event, the team’s gold medal winners are Kevin, Alatab, and Jon. Liike Kibami, Hinokali, Avikali V. Sheqi, Hatneinem Khongsai, Mercy Singh, Chithuyio Kajisho, and A. Vipu Assumi won the Silver medals, and Tiayanger Imsong and Dausanliu Rentta won the Bronze medals.
