Guwahati, Jan 14: The lifeless body of a 35-year-old widowed woman, Moonmoon Begum, was discovered at her residence in Guwahati‘s Noonmati area.
The shocking discovery revealed injury marks on her body, prompting an investigation team to treat it as a premeditated murder.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday night when the woman’s son reported that his mother had fallen in her room, resulting in her demise.
The following morning, her lifeless body was found under mysterious circumstances. The police, alerted by the son, rushed her to a hospital where she was officially declared dead.

While the sons claim that their mother slipped in the bathroom, causing her injuries, the police are conducting a thorough investigation.
CCTV footage is being reviewed to gather more information about the circumstances leading to her death. Some neighbors are urging a comprehensive inquiry into the matter.
Moonmoon Begum’s history is marked by tragedy, with her husband, Motlab Ali, being killed in 2005, and his brother meeting a similar fate the previous year.
In 2006, a family househelp was murdered, and in 2007, Ali’s father also became a victim. The family, devoid of male members, had relocated from Bamunimaidam to Noonmati’s Nizarapar locality.
The death of Moonmoon Begum has raised suspicions, particularly as she had remarried and later separated after her first husband’s demise.
The ongoing police investigation is expected to unveil crucial insights into the recurring pattern of deaths within the family.
