Agartala, Feb 06: At least 13 people were injured and shifted to hospital, six motorbikes were destroyed and two booth offices of opposition CPM were vandalized on Saturday evening alleged by ruling BJP cadres in two locations of Khowai and Unakoti districts of Tripura.

BJP leader and president of its youth wing in Majlishpur constituency of West Tripura, Shivayn Das was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly attacking a CPM rally at Sachindra Colony. He was accused of preventing CPM and congress workers from attending the election rally and assaulting them.

Police stated instances had been registered in reference to the incident and research has been released however no one has been arrested yet.

An extra deployment has been made in Majlishpur, Khowai, and Chandipur constituencies to ease tension.

CPM secretary Jitendra Choudhury alleged that CPM both offices at Sonatola of Khowai was attacked around 8:15 am by BJP supporters, and set on fire.

A combined force of CPM and Congress put up a resistance. At least six persons from both parties were injured and shifted to Khowai hospital ad two of them had been mentioned to Agartala Government Medical College in critical condition.

Denying all allegations, BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee stated that both CPM and Congress have joined hands to malign BJP.
