Manipur students

New Delhi, Jan 13: 17 girl students from the border villages of Manipur met President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Thursday. It was a part of the ongoing National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by the Khuga battalion of the Assam Rifles (AR).

A glimpse of the event was shared on Twitter from the official account of the President of India quoting that “President Droupadi Murmu met a group of students from Imphal, Manipur. The students are on a National Integration Tour organised by the Assam Rifles.”

On the second day of their tour, the students shared their dreams and aspirations with the President and took lessons from her life journey and achievements.

This was the first time that an all-girl NIT team of Manipur met the President, read a statement issued by the AR. Later, the students visited the National Rail Museum in the capital, it added.

The National Integration Tours are educational and motivational tours for the youth of Jammu & Kashmir and the northeastern states.
