Kolkata, Dec 30: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly molested inside a car by her male friends while returning home from a birthday party in front of a female friend.
The incident happened between Jadavpur and Bhawanipur area of Kolkata which is the prime area of the city where police personnel have been deployed especially during the festive season.
A resident of Maheshtala went to attend a birthday party of a female friend in the Jadavpur area. After the party, four friends went on a drive including the two male who have been accused. Once they left the venue, the victim alleges that her male friends who are identified as Rajesh Roy and Sourav Roy, started touching her in an improper manner in front of the female friend.
The 20-year-old victim was seeking help from outside the car and shouting as loud as she can but no one was there on road to listen and help her out. After at least 5.3 km she somehow managed to get down from the car and lodge a police complaint.
The case has been lodged under IPC 30/12/2020 U/S 354/114 against 3 of the accused including the female friend.
