With 208 new COVID-19 positive cases Assam tally surges to 2681, Five fresh cases in Nagaland:

Guwahati, June 8: Assam has reported 208 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours and with the new cases the state tally has now increased to 2681.

Confirming the report, Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said that, 208 new cases have been reported in the state in last 24 hours.

He tweeted –  “155 more #COVID19+ cases today. Total cases 2681, Recovered 636, Active cases 2038, Deaths 04.

In the last five days, the state had registered 1120 positive cases for COVID-19.

According to the Assam government data, 269 COVID-19 positive cases were detected in the state on June 3 while 285 cases on June 4, 128 cases on June 5, 230 cases on June 6 and 208 cases on June 7.

On the other hand, Nagaland on Monday has registered 5 fresh positive cases for COVID-19 taking the state tally to 123.

Nagaland Health minister S Pangnyu Phom said that, out of the five new cases, three cases have been reported from Kohima quarantine centre while two from Dimapur quarantine centre.

He tweeted – “5 new cases of COVID-19 +ve have been reported out of 220 samples tested. 2 from Dmp QC & 3 from Khm QC.  Positive : 123, Active : 115.

The state had reported 11 COVID-19 positive cases on June 7.
