Guwahati, Sept 13: Police had apprehended 26 Myanmar nationals from a city lodge in Assam’s capital city Guwahati.

According to the Assam police, the apprehended persons are hailing from Chin state of Myanmar and police had recovered forged Indian documents including Aadhar card, Voter ID card etc from their possession.

A top official of Assam police said that, based on source information, Guwahati city police had conducted a raid at Kamrupa Lodge (Muana Run) at the Rehabari area and apprehended 26 suspected persons (16 male and 10 female).

During interrogation, it was found out the apprehended persons are citizens of the Chin state of Myanmar and they were on their way to Delhi to study Bible (theology).

From their possession, forged Indian documents such as Aadhar cards, Voter id etc recovered which were made in Mizoram.

Police had registered a case vide Paltan bazar police station (case no – 860/2021) Under Section 468 IPC R / W sec 14 of foreigners act – 1946 , R/W sec 3/4 passport(Entry into India)  act 1920, R/W sec 6 off passport(Entry into India) rules 1950.

The apprehended persons were identified as Biak Lion Ceu (28 years), Hrang Khen Cung (25 years), Henry Vanhubik (20 years), Van Ceu Lian (21 years), Than Fel (20 years), Denial Lalsual Hub (18 years), Lal Kim Lian (19 years), Sui Than Luai (26 years), Kei Than Hrang (23 years), Van Eng Lian (18 years), Van Uk Lian (21 years), Biak Nei Iang (19 years), Lal Cei Mawi (22 years), Len Mawi (28 years), Biak Hnem Par (18 years), Lal Cer Par (18 years), Van Biak Cuai (24 years), Nuam Ngaih Kham (25 years), Kam Sian Lian (27 years), Thang Sian Muang (25 years), Thang Ho Siam ( 18 years), Sut Khan Kim (27 years), Dai Sian Nem (27 years), Din Lan Cing (23 years), Cing Thawh Siam (20 years) and Awi Khawl Huai (27 years).
