Imphal, March 04: In a swift operation, Manipur Police successfully rescued a 55-year-old individual and his vehicle on March 4 after he was abducted by unknown miscreants from Imphal East on March 2.

Acting on a missing person report, Manipur Police launched immediate search operations, leading to the rescue of the victim and his vehicle from the Napetpalli area.

Preliminary reports indicate that one Lukhram Bikram Singh, also known as Kuthan, aged 40 from Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai, was arrested in connection with the case and remanded into police custody by the Duty Magistrate.

Meanwhile, during ongoing search operations and Naka checking, a significant cache of war-like stores, including firearms, explosives, and ammunition, was seized near Elora Hotel in Moreh, Manipur.

Launched on March 1 based on precise intelligence inputs, the operation resulted in the confiscation of illicit weapons, including One Point 38 Pistol, Ten Improvised Explosive Devices (Country Made), Three Grenades, and various types of ammunition.

This seizure highlights the seriousness of the threat posed by the proliferation of illicit arms in the region.

The recovered weapons and ammunition have been handed over to local police authorities for further investigation and necessary action.
