Imphal, May 11: In the ongoing battle against drug trafficking, a significant breakthrough has been made in Manipur. A joint operation by NAB-PS and Heingang-PS was conducted along with an Executive Magistrate to seize illegal substances in the Mantripukhri area of Imphal East District.
Following the receipt of information that some illegal items were concealed in the area, the combined team rushed to the spot after following the due formalities.
They identified a suspected house and conducted a raid, which resulted in the seizure of 77 gunny bags containing suspected poppy seeds, a packet containing 520 grams of synthetic caffeine, and one transparent plastic packet containing 175 grams of Pseudoephedrine.

Additionally, an RC book, a 100 kyat note, and a 20 kyat note were recovered from the house in the name of Paojangam Khongsai s/o Songkholet Khongsai of Mantripukhri AT Line.
It is highly suspected that the accused person and the house owner is a member of an international drug cartel. The recovery of such a large quantity of illegal substances is a significant achievement in the fight against drug trafficking.
