Imphal, June 30: The hill state of Manipur continues to grapple with a deepening crisis as Chief Minister N Biren Singh prepares to submit his resignation today, June 30. The move comes after nearly 60 days of unrest in the state, during which peace has remained elusive.

Sources indicate that Biren Singh will meet with Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey at 1 PM to officially hand over his resignation. It is reported that the chief minister was presented with a choice: either resign voluntarily or face intervention from the central government.
