Guwahati, April 08: The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Assam are set to witness heightened political fervor as Union Home Minister Amit Shah gears up to spearhead the campaign efforts.

With a packed itinerary comprising meetings and rallies, Shah’s presence aims to galvanize support for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates across various constituencies.

Scheduled to kickstart his campaign with a rally for Sarbananda Sonowal, the BJP candidate for the Dibrugarh seat and Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Shah’s agenda underscores the strategic importance of key constituencies in Assam.

Following this, concerted efforts will be directed towards bolstering the campaigns of Ranjit Dutta and Pradan Baruah, contenders for the Sonitpur and Lakhimpur seats respectively.

A highlight of Shah’s itinerary is a roadshow planned in Tinsukia, indicative of the BJP’s concerted push to consolidate support ahead of the elections.

The rally in Tinsukia is expected to draw significant attention and enthusiasm from party supporters, as Shah aims to rally grassroots momentum in favor of BJP candidates.

Noteworthy is Shah’s rescheduled visit to Assam, initially slated for April 7 and 8 but subsequently delayed, necessitating adjustments to the campaign timeline.

Originally slated to address rallies in Gohpur, Lakhimpur, and Hojai, the revised agenda now prioritizes targeted campaigning on April 9 to maximize outreach and engagement with voters.

The rejigged campaign strategy underscores the BJP’s strategic recalibration in response to evolving dynamics on the ground.

By focusing efforts on key constituencies and leveraging Shah’s presence, the party aims to capitalize on momentum and consolidate its electoral prospects in Assam.

With the stakes high and political competition fierce, Shah’s upcoming rally in Tinsukia marks a pivotal moment in the unfolding narrative of Assam’s electoral landscape.
