Guwahati, May 31: A mild earthquake measuring a magnitude of 3.2 was recorded near Guwahati, Assam on Monday at 56:57 IST, National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located at latitude 25.81 and longitude 91.03, with a depth of 24 kilometers. The seismic activity occurred approximately 79 kilometers west-southwest of Guwahati.

While a magnitude 3.2 earthquake is considered relatively minor, it may have been felt by residents in the vicinity. Earthquakes of this magnitude often result in slight tremors and vibrations, but rarely cause significant damage or pose any immediate danger to the population.
