Itanagar, August 7: A total of the 37 police officials posted at Itanagar Capital Complex in Arunachal who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 have recovered & were welcomed at the SP office at Itanagar with greet & honour.

Among the 37 police personnel, two were officers-in-charge, one SDPO, one Deputy Superintendent of Police, 5 sub-inspectors, constables and several others tested positive for the virus, within the ICR. They were released only after their reports yielded a negative result thrice following protocols of the ICMR.

Tumne Amo, SP of the Capital Complex Region along with other officers welcomed the 37 COVID Warriors and handed over to them Certificates of Appreciation and bouquet of flowers.

Addressing the media, Tumme Amo informed, “All my colleague police officials have won their fight against the coronavirus & have bravely joined back this fight by coming back to the pavilion to control any further spread of Corona.

The SP further mentioned that all of them recovered because of their strong will & immunity and had to resort to very less medication. Due to strict duties in the containment zones of the ICR and patrolling round the clock during the lockdown period, these officials got infected.

He has appealed to the people to obey Standard Operative Procedures and guidelines issued by the health department to win this fight against the virus.

Rike Kamsi, Sub Divisional Police Officer posted at the Naharlagun Police station in the ICR, Arunachal and also a COVID-19 survivor shared his experience of recovering from coronavirus.

He said that support from friends and family is all that is needed to win this battle against COVID-19 as negative attitude of people towards COVID-19 patients a create depression among the patient. Positive support and no stigmatization is needed for the speedy recovery from the disease. He also urged people to follow state and central guidelines and wear masks to curb the spread of the virus.
