Arunachal govt launch a helpline to help you get vaccinated

Arunachal, March 3: With the Centre expanding its Covid-19 vaccine coverage to all senior citizens and those aged above 45+ who have co-morbidities, the East Kameng district administration in Arunachal Pradesh has in collaboration with Project StepOne launched a Telemedicine Helpline to assist all those looking forward to getting themselves vaccinated.

Project StepOne is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organisation that has been involved in providing Covid-19 related telemedicine support to people across the country since the start of the pandemic.

The organisation has also launched a National Covid Telemedicine Helpline, offering 24×7 access to healthcare experts free of cost.

Under the initiative launched by the East Kameng district administration, people not only from East Kameng but those from across the state can call the Telemedicine Helpline at 03787-222999 and get all their doubts and queries about Covid-19 vaccination answered by doctors and volunteers of Project StepOne.

Besides that, the district administration will also monitor the health of those getting vaccinated to check for side effects of the vaccine, if any.

People will receive automated calls from Project StepOne daily for 5 days after they get vaccinated and in case they report any symptoms, a doctor will call them to provide consultation and advice.

The people in Arunachal can also call the helpline directly in case they wish to consult a doctor regarding any side effects they might be experiencing.

The healthcare and frontline workers who are nominated by their respective departments to receive the vaccination free of cost will also receive a call to clarify any doubts they may have with regard to the vaccine.

East Kameng deputy commissioner P Pravimal Abhishek said the aim of the initiative is to bring the pandemic under control at the earliest through vaccination and demystifying doubts regarding the vaccine so that the people can resume normal lives safely.

One of the spokespersons from Project StepOne said, after helping 2.5 million citizens in 18 states the NPO is now looking forward to making the vaccination programme successful through timely interventions.
