Itanagar, Jan 23: Arunachal Pradesh’s MLA Gokar Basar is dedicated to the comprehensive development of the Basar Assembly Constituency, focusing on improving the socio-economic status of the region.

During a gathering at Old and New Dari villages, MLA Gokar Basar welcomed around 68 new members to his party, emphasizing his commitment to the people’s all-round development.

The welcoming event on January 20 witnessed the presence of party leaders, ZPMs, GPMs, and retired officers.

Gokar Basar outlined his developmental agenda for the upcoming election, pledging to work towards enhancing education, healthcare, and road communication, and implementing central and state government flagship programs.

Reflecting on his previous election victory against a formidable opponent, Gokar Basar expressed gratitude to the people for their support and emphasized his moral responsibility to meet their expectations.

He highlighted his efforts to improve road connectivity, collaborating with other MLAs for better medical facilities, and initiating various developmental projects.

In the realm of sports, Gokar Basar has provided platforms for young sports enthusiasts and facilitated the establishment of engineering head offices within Basar. He expressed happiness that his constituency is effectively implementing central and state government schemes.

Addressing the issue of money culture in elections, Gokar Basar shared his belief in performance over buying votes with money. He cited his victory as proof that dedication and service to the people matter more than financial influence.

Retired officers, including Hengo Basar, praised Gokar Basar’s developmental works across various sectors, expressing confidence in his leadership. The retired officers acknowledged Gokar Basar’s commitment to the welfare of the 29th Basar Assembly Constituency.

However, allegations of anomalies and scams surfaced regarding a PMGSY road project from the highway to Ego Rijo village. Villagers, led by Head Gaon Burah Kemo Rihar and Gotu Aja, accused Zila Parishad Chairperson Nyabi Jini Dirchi of misappropriating funds meant for road construction.

They claimed that agricultural lands were damaged, and promised compensation was not provided.

Rini Riba, a retired forest officer, supported the villagers’ claims, asserting that the road project was unnecessary and was undertaken for personal benefits. He called for a detailed investigation into the PMGSY road project and urged the state government to address corruption concerns.
